Rochester-Twin Cities Passenger Rail Corridor Investment Plan - Tier 1 EIS

Public Meetings

Public Meeting Summary for Round 1 Public Meetings

Three public meetings were held along the project corridor to introduce the project, collect comments and feedback on initial alternatives, and to satisfy federal scoping requirements. The three (3) two-hour-long meetings each began with a half hour open house, with presentation boards on display and staff available to answer questions and discuss the project. This was followed by a brief introduction given by Olmsted County Commissioner Ken Brown (Rochester) or MnDOT Passenger Rail Director Dan Krom (Minneapolis and Cannon Falls) and then a presentation on the project given by Chuck Michael, Olmsted County Regional Railroad Authority (OCRRA) Project Manager. After the presentations, there were Q&A sessions followed by a return to an open house format. Comment sheets were available for individuals who wanted to provide written comments. View the public meeting materials.
